Partnership Development and Public Outreach
The private sector is essential to the well-being of communities and plays an important role in emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery efforts. The private sector employs most of the nation’s workforce, owns 85% of critical infrastructure, and produces goods and services necessary for the day-to-day functioning of society.
In order for a public/private partnership to be effective, the public and private sectors need to define the purpose, objectives and
organizational structure, identify partners and leaders, and develop an outreach strategy and implementation tools.
