The private sector is essential to the well-being of communities and plays an important role in emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery efforts. The private sector employs most of the nation's workforce, owns 85% of critical infrastructure, and produces goods and services necessary for the day-to-day functioning of society.
The Partnership Development and Outreach Initiative Team develops and recommends to the board of directors the recruitment, expansion and sustainability plans to ensure that Safeguard Iowa Partnership is successful as an organization.
On July 25, 2008, Safeguard Iowa Partnership became an Iowa nonprofit corporation and received approval for tax exemption February 18, 2009, from the Internal Revenue Service.
2010 Breakthrough Objectives, Annual Improvement Projects and Targets
Objective: Develop long-term funding strategies.
Project: Develop alternative funding solutions - from private, public, grants and fundraising sources - for the administrative costs of Safeguard Iowa.
Target: Achieve 100% funding of administration costs of Safeguard Iowa.
